Painter's Breast mug in vibrant blue
These Painter’s mugs pay homage to my memory of carefree summer days spent painting cottages on the lake, where hard work and sisterhood shaped me into a skilled painter. I embraced the messiness that came with the job, ending each day completely speckled with paint (my specialty). We adopted a hot sauna ritual to rid ourselves of a day's worth of paint. I like to think each mug tells a story of strength, problem-solving, and the bonds formed during those unforgettable summer adventures living our best lives on Lake of the Woods. Embrace the imperfections and the beauty that comes with each one.
here are a few reasons why I put breasts on mugs:
Breasts symbolize life-giving nourishment, regardless of whether one was (or) directly breastfed. They are a universal connection, a fundamental aspect of human existence that transcends individual experiences.
In a world where breasts are often objectified, hypersexualized, and commodified, my perspective on them is rooted in their nurturing essence.
The inclusion of breasts on my pottery is a nod to my younger self navigating the complexities of puberty and societal norms. It challenges the unequal standards imposed on girls and boys, highlighting the arbitrary nature of certain restrictions placed on female bodies.
By crafting mugs with breasts, I invite individuals to confront the objectification of the female body and embrace a message of empowerment and self-acceptance. These pieces are a canvas for promoting body positivity, encouraging a shift towards appreciating bodies in their authentic and unapologetic forms.
Handmade in Canada, in small batches which means each mug is unique and one of a kind.
Care Instructions: microwave and dishwasher safe.
Approximate Dimensions: 4.25 inches tall and 3.5 inches across.
Capacity: Holds approximately 15 ounces.
